KANEL: a Swedish konditori in Greece

Oh yes, we have yet another amazing interior design to showcase here! This time we bring you a Swedish konditori designed by Fluo Design and opened this year. After living in Sweden for many years, Kanel’s owner’s family brought back to Greece a classic Swedish recipe: the kanelbullar. Fluo’s mission was to develop an interior that would embrace the Nordic influence while also considering the Mediterranean roots.

Fluo team was inspired by the simplicity of the Scandinavian minimalism and adapted this style to match Thessaloniki’s warmer territory. Kanel’s space was then divided in two parts: the warm and the cold.

The warm part was painted in a terracotta shade and creates a nest enclosing the bar and preparation area. The cold part is the seating area and is like a corridor that leads to the nest.

The earthy colored graphic pattern on the wall was created to accentuate the connection between the two spaces, while the neon quotes give the place instagrammable backgrounds. With the phrase “a piece for everyone” as the motto, anyone and everyone are invited to join.

If you loved this project as much as we did and want to check out more of Fluo’s works, you should visit their website.
