Today we are happy to show you one of our favourite children’s brands! We’ve been following their journey since 2018 and we are fans from the beginning. Every year they grow more and more, and their collections look cooler than ever!

So, it is time to appreciate this brand and to present to you: BONMOT, in an exclusive interview and a close look at their beautiful SS'22 collection out today!

BONMOT was born with the mission to create a different path in the production and consumption of children's clothing. This route is driven by environmentally conscious choices and focused on a sustainable children's fashion that is fair and ethical.

BONMOT’S “happy garments” concept comes from producing only with fabrics that are 100% organic gots-certified, raw, sustainable & environmental-friendly dyes!

They design unisex garments with bold colours and fun prints. Made for kids with a free personality that are not afraid to smile, get down and dirty with life.

When did we learn and venture out more when we were younger? When we played outdoors!

This collection is born out of a passion and belief in education based on nature experiences and outdoor play as a non-formal schooling method. Bonmot speaks the language of children teaching them sustainability values through fun moments and experiences.

They communicate their message through their fun prints and beautiful range of colours, made to encourage little ones to explore the world!

1. What’s BONMOT story? Can you tell us more about you and when/how did the brand start?

Bonmot was born in 2018 in Barcelona. Estel and Caetana met working together for a women's clothing brand. They immediately connected, they both had in mind to create a children's clothing brand. They wanted to have fun designing and creating in a freer and more spontaneous way, as children are. "We wanted to play with bright colours and fun prints and above all, we wanted to produce environmentally friendly garments". But the most important was to create an organic Brand sustainable out of the fast fashion world they had been working in for years.

2. You just launched a new collection Ss22, what was your main inspiration?

As in all our collections, our inspiration are values of sustainability, love for nature and respect for our planet. But for us, it’s very important to tell our story in an enjoyable way in the language of children.

3. BONMOT values sustainability and doing better for the planet. Can you tell us more about these values?

As previously said, from the very beginning, we were very clear that we wanted Bonmot to be based on sustainable fashion, fair and ethical with society and the planet. We wanted to forge a different path in the production and consumption of children's clothing, towards a more humane and environmentally friendly side. Our garments are made with natural fabrics, most of them 100% organic cotton yarn GOTS certified. Also, we dye our garments using the minimum amount of water and energy and also we select production partners that use renewable practices and resources. That’s why our claim is “Hello positive garments”.

4. What is the most exciting stage of creating a new collection?

When we are in the middle of the creative process brainstorming, getting inspired and creating new garments. We are so privileged to love so much what we do!

5. What are your favourite pieces from the new collection?

It’s hard to tell, we love all of them, so much care put on each design, but if we had to pick something, it would be the set of striped dress, pants and T-shirts made with towel fabric, perfect summer wear!

6. What is your best memory when making this collection?

On shooting days with kids running and playing wearing our collection, that's when we could finally see all the work we had been doing for months, and see the garments come to life.

7. Can you tell us more about your cool illustrated prints and patterns?

All this process is made by us, we draw the illustrations by hand with a felt-tip pen on a piece of paper. As soon as we get inspired, we sit down and draw hundreds of drawings related to the collection. After then, we select winners that most represent our story of that collection. The magic suits after when we print it on its matching pattern and base colour perfect for it.

10. What is your morning routine?

Caetana likes to get up early. She goes swimming in the sea while everyone else is still sleeping at home. Starting the day after being in contact with nature brings a lot of vitality. “Then I come home fully recharged, ready to wake up my son and prepare him for kindergarten.”

Estel loves to kick-off the day with blaring music. “It makes me feel positive and energised since the moment I get up”. Then, she is ready to prepare breakfast for her two children and take them to school.

8. Which kids' fashion ‘trend/style’ will live forever with BONMOT ?

Bonmot is well known for the use of bright colors and quirky drawings, we just feel good when we see kids wear them. They love them too for its comfy and soft qualities and joyful prints.

9. And finally, what’s your favourite city in the world?

We love so many cities around the world, but we would say Barcelona, our birth city. For us, it has all we love, the sea, good weather, great food, plenty of cultural and sports activities and music festivals and it is also a "kids friendly" city.
