Gülmen Interiors presents: Istanbul Coffee Shop & Store

Wade yourself in a pink heaven

while sipping on your coffee or buying a bag

We’ve been posting a lot of articles about design to offer you some home inspiration and of hotels or holiday houses for your vacations. This time we are very excited to present you a café and shop in one (yes, in one!). We’d like to introduce you to Istanbul Coffee Shop & Store by Gülmen Interiors. It’s obvious that both you as readers as we as writers, are all pastel interior design lovers.

This time, (instead of following our advice and catching the first plane to that beautiful hotel in Madrid or running to your computer to order some nice interior pieces we presented you), you can simply drop by for a coffee with a little treat while wading yourself in a pastel pink heaven.

This beautiful project is founded by husband and wife, Ahmet Vedat Gülmen and Seyma İlçel Gülmen. They both work as architects and together they have their own firm called Gülmen interiors

In general, we are huge fans of Gülmen interiors. Their use of nude tones and plants make you feel calm, at peace and dreamy. Their previous work contained a lot of pastel green shades. This last project, however, made our heart skip a beat even more: it’s all pink! We feel like Ahmet and Seyma really chose to go into a different direction for this project. Although it’s obviously still their style, it’s definitely something different.

The Coffee Shop & Store will be located in Istanbul/Sarıyer. The design is characterized by contemporary trends such as round forms, arches, terrazzo and of course, pink. The project has been influenced by current trends such as the use of velour fabrics, which shows the interest in millennial brights, and the retro, minimalist trend, which is visible in the small copper details of the furniture. The terrazzo patterns create a more playful vibe and look great in combination with the plain walls and colors of the furniture.

Besides sipping on your coffee and having a sweet treat, there is more to indulge! Istanbul Coffee Shop & Store also has fancy bags for sale. Instead of having a clear division between the part of the cafe and store, the designers did an amazing job in intertwining these two aspects together. It seems as if the bags are part of the interior. The arches, round forms and pink colors that are visible in the whole design, are also present in the bags.

It is obvious that the designers thought of every small detail. The whole scene looks very clean, and almost feels a little futuristic since all the aspects are combined perfectly. This conjoints very well with the size of the Coffee shop & Store itself.

Do you already picture yourself drinking a coffee there? We do!
