In the heart of Lapa, Lisbon, a newly rehabilitated shopping centre houses one of the city's most intriguing destinations for fragrance aficionados: Opar Perfume.

Nestled in the vibrant Rua Garcia da Orta, this artisanal perfumery lab stands out for its bespoke approach to scent creation, offering a truly personalised olfactory experience.

Opar Perfume, founded by Karolina Oledzka and Tanya Reda, is an atelier dedicated to crafting unique, tailor-made scents.

The experience starts with a detailed questionnaire to uncover the customer's preferences and sensory memories. This helps the perfumer understand the client's personality, ensuring the fragrance is an extension of their identity.

The culmination of the experience is a 100-millilitre bottle of bespoke eau de parfum, with the formulation saved in a database for easy refills. The process, which costs €169, is not just about creating a fragrance but about engaging in an artistic and sensory journey.

Now, a year after launching Opar Perfumes in Lapa, Karolina and Tanya have opened a second store on Rua da Alegria. In this new space, Opar Alegria, the concept evolves into a retail boutique, launching its first signature fragrances—Maresia and Veraneio—as well as scented candles.

Inspired by a marginal route from Cascais to Guincho, the Maresia fragrance captures the scent of sea foam and driftwood, with fresh herbs from the Serra de Sintra and solar flowers that grow on the dunes. More intense, Veraneio is an ode to long summer nights. Herbal and fresh, with a touch of rose and white woods, it combines natural essential oils known to repel mosquitoes.

The two fragrances are available in two formats: perfume (100 ml - €149) and candle (280 g - €59). Private experiences in Lapa (€169) will continue to be an integral part of Opar's identity.
