Rooted in Nordic Heritage is Minimalisma. A family-run brand, founded and designed by Maka Akraberg, who was driven by her desire to create a luxury brand of everyday essentials for babies, children and women.

Maja Akraberg grew up on a small volcanic archipelago in the North Atlantic Ocean, where nature was her playground and her clothes were skilfully knitted by her mother. An untouched childhood grounded in nature and simplicity. This is the ideology that Minimalisma embodies, and wants to share across generations.

Nature is in all matters, the biggest inspiration for Minimalisma. They believe that it is important to be respectful towards nature, as it especially belongs to the generations to come, our children. In a world where everything is disposable, Minimalisma offers an eco-friendly alternative which stands for a new mindset and concern for high-quality, long-lasting clothing. They launch two collections every year, and many of the designs and their colours are recurring, they have pieces that have been part of their collections since the beginning. Isn't this amazing?

That’s why you will not find synthetics, nor regenerated fibres at Minimalisma. Only the finest natural cashmere, silk, baby alpaca, merino wool, and GOTS certified cotton.

Last year, the brand proudly announced that they have become Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified, meaning that not only are their styles made from an organic cotton produced without toxic chemicals, but the working conditions in factories are good and their environmental footprint is limited.

This is a proud achievement for the brand that started in 2011 with just a dream and a small unisex collection for babies. Today, they have successfully grown to a range up to 12 years old and selected styles for women. And an international presence in over 150 shops in 30 countries around the world.

It’s time to introduce you to their beautiful new Spring/ Summer 2022 collection, deeply inspired and rooted in nature, as always, here is: Make a Wish.

This collection reflects these changing times, where nothing can be taken for granted, but hopes and dreams are omnipresent. Now is the time to "Make a Wish" and believe like a child that dreams can come true. The poem is inspired by the dandelions which encapsulate the new collection and bring the Make a Wish emphasis to life. Symbolising hope, growth and healing.

The beautiful subtle colours resemble the Scandinavian Summer and range from a light almond to a warm latte with accents of rose. The nimble Nordic skies are depicted in shades from a light cloud to a deep Jade. The brand lives by the premise that comfort is key and in this collection the clothes feel "light as feathery parachutes that are blown into the air".

In this Season, Minimalisma introduces new styles and qualities.

Our essentials have been enriched with two effortless, luxurious qualities. A GOTS-certified collection in 100% organic cotton rib. And a sumptuous silk- cashmere blend comprising two new women’s styles and a delicate 3-piece babies set. Also added are four new styles in our Signature Silk Seamless line.

Finally, the GOTS-certified organic cotton jersey and cotton piquet’s lines have been extended with new capsule styles for a timeless and sophisticated basic wardrobe. “We invite you to Make-a-Wish and embrace the season in a candid spirit”.

We are long time fans of Minimalisma, and really believe in their high quality clothing, as Charlie has a body and it outlasts the multiple washes.

We deeply love this collection as it brings an inspiring message and beautiful designs. Our favourite pieces are the Bergen silk-cotton long-sleeve in the Golden Leaf colour, and the cute loose-fit shorts in Nougat.
