Delicious Mexican Cuisine in Lisbon

Craving for some Mexican cuisine? Look no further! In Lisbon, you can find many places serving delicious Mexican food that offer an experience for your taste buds, and we’ve gathered together a list of all the best spots to go.

CARNAL, Chiado

It’s more than just a Mexican gastro bar, it’s a collective story told through a large unique space filled with food, drinks, music, and fine arts. It’s a space that resembles the feeling of being free, alive, and visceral.

  • A menu full of authentic flavoured Mexican dishes made with many products imported from Mexico;

  • Dishes to look for are raw prawns in chili pepper sauce, coriander lime, cucumber, red onion, and cured avocado puree or chicharrón prensado quesadillas;

  • At the bar you can find 10 signature cocktails, mock-tails, classics and spirits made with unique garnishes you wouldn’t expect such as shiitake mushrooms or habanero corn;

BOCA LINDA

Boca Linda is a fresh take on Mexican cuisine in Lisbon, blending authentic flavours with a modern twist. Born from a love of traditional Mexican food and a deep connection to its roots, the restaurant brings together rich aromas, vibrant colours, and bold tastes using both Mexican and local Portuguese ingredients.

  • La Mesa del Chef offers an exclusive front-row seat to the kitchen, inspired by the tradition of chefs cooking while entertaining friends and family.

  • The menu blends Mexican flavours with Portuguese ingredients, creating dishes that are both rooted in tradition and uniquely innovative.

  • A lively, welcoming space designed to transport guests straight to the heart of Mexico through food, drinks, and culture.

El Cabron, Santos

El Cabron offers tacos and cocktails with traditional Mexican flavours. The restaurant is located in the trendy and authentic Santos, a great place for dinner and a night out.

  • There are various options on the menu from tacos and quesadillas to burritos and burrito bowls, as well as tasty starters;

  • Special mention for nice spicy salsas;

  • We recommend the ‘‘Menu de Grupo’’, which includes 1 margarita, different starters, 3 tacos or 1 burrito, coffee, and a tequila shot. All that for 25€, sounds like a fair deal to us.

Cantina Flores, Principe Real

Cantina Flores is a little corner of Mexico in Lisbon, blending rustic charm with a contemporary twist. From the first sip of a mezcal cocktail to the last bite of a flavour-packed taco, every detail is designed to transport you straight to the heart of Mexico.

  • The menu is filled with authentic dishes, from soft corn tacos bursting with flavour to slow-cooked carnitas and fresh ceviches. Each dish is crafted with carefully sourced ingredients, bringing the rich taste of Mexico to every bite.

  • At the bar, you’ll find a creative mix of signature cocktails, mocktails, and classics, featuring unique garnishes that surprise.

Las Ficheras, Cais do Sodré

In Cais do Sodré, you can find Las Ficheras - a vibrant restaurant serving not the usual Tex-Mex place you might be used to. Instead, it’s a truly authentic concept created with love and passion.

  • Enjoy amazing tacos, enchiladas, and mezcal in a cozy space filled with art;

  • We’re big fans of ‘‘Tostado con ceviche y mango’’ and ‘‘Taco de Pescado Del Dia’’, which is cooked from the fish of the day;

  • Perfect for grabbing a delicious dinner or some drinks in a unique environment.

Mex Factory, Alcântara

Mex Factory is located in hip LX Factory, guaranteeing good vibes. This restaurant and bar serves delicious Mexican cuisine, nice cocktails, and Luchadores-inspired decor.

  • Their ‘‘Menu de Grupos’’ offer real value for money;

  • Things get exciting after dinner - Fridays and Saturdays mean dancing until 3 AM. Their DJ is giving the rhythm, and shots won’t be lacking;

  • Try their tacos full of flavour, XL-sized burritos, and tequila-based cocktails;

  • There are also gluten-free, organic, and great vegetarian options.

Las Dos Manos, Alcântara

Another treasure in Alcântara is Las Dos Manos. Beware, this place is not your typical Mexican restaurant, it is a unique fusion restaurant between Japanese and Mexican cuisine, imagined by the famous Chef Kiko.

  • Must-tries are definitely their delicious taco “Al Pastor” and their tuna belly tostada;

  • For those who always have a sweet tooth, their churros filled with doce de leite (milk jam) will not disappoint you, AT ALL;

  • No reservations are taken in advance, so be sure to be there early if you don’t feel like waiting.

Mezcaleria, Bairro Alto

Last but not the least, hidden in the streets of Bairro Alto, is Mezcaleria!

  • With menus changing frequently, you will be able to try different traditional Mexican dishes throughout the seasons (we loved you lamb barbacoa);

  • Also, there are always vegetarians options on their ever-changing seasonal menus;

  • Spicy-warry people, worry not, the dishes are not too spicy;

  • Spice-lovers, don’t worry either, various hot sauces are at your disposition to spice everything up.
